Navigating CertiCraft Compliance Software Like a Pro

With a career path as dynamic as her personality, Jessi hails from rural Manitoba but relocated to BC during the COVID-19 pandemic. Here, she dove headfirst into the cannabis industry, gaining hands-on experience by kickstarting the edibles department at a prominent standard facility and excelling as an executive assistant at a micro-cultivation site. She’s a powerhouse with a deep understanding of cannabis operations and a knack for navigating computer programs with ease. Here’s what Jessi recommends: 

1. Navigating the Change Over Time Reports

"One of the most underutilized tools is the Change Over Time Reports. These reports log all the events affecting your compliance data but can look at first glance." Here’s how to make them easier to work with:

• Import the CSV to Google Sheets for better navigation.
• Format it for clarity: Freeze the first column and top two rows, expand columns to fit the data, and voilà—you’ve got an easier-to-read document.
• These reports contain key details about every action in the period you've selected. If something seems off—like a report value not adding up—you can reference the Change Over Time Report to pinpoint the root cause.
  
  

As she puts it, "these reports essentially give you the information that populates your compliance reports. If values don’t match up, this is a great resource for troubleshooting before reaching out to support."

2. Using Search to Find Specific Data

"When working with large audit logs or reports, CTRL/CMD + F is your best friend. It allows you to quickly search for specific commands or events."

• CertiCraft contains search filters in many places to let you find the exact data you're looking for. For example, you can limit your audit log to just show you all "Harvest Cannabis Plants" records, or your lots overview to only show you solventless extraction lots.
• Sometimes, that isn't enough. In those situation, CTRL/CMD + F is your friend! For example, if you're looking for specific invoices, you can search for keywords like “invoice-17,” and it will highlight every occurrence.
• CTRL/CMD + F finds exact matches, making it super precise, and will super-power your data isolation when combined with the normal search/filtering functionalities.
  
  

"I use Control + F all the time, especially when analyzing a large audit log. It takes me straight to what I’m looking for and saves a lot of scrolling."

3. Refresh without the Browser Cache for Fresh Cannabis

"Sometimes, your browsers caches data that isn't current. When that happens, a standard browser refresh won’t cut it." Enter CTRL/CMD + Shift + R, a refresh shortcut that ignores your browser's cached data.

• This is your go-to when filters or edits don’t seem to be showing correctly, or if you know there's a new update to CertiCraft that you aren't seeing.
• Think of it as a hard reset that forces your browser to reload everything from scratch.
  
  

"I like to think of CTRL/CMD + Shift + R as giving the browser a good smack upside the head—it’s the best way to fully reset things when they’re acting up without needing to delete your cache," she explains.

Bonus Tip: Jessi’s Contribution to the Cannabis Notes System

Jessi worked closely with our development team to make sure that you can snap photos on your phone and upload them directly into CertiCraft through the Notes System. “There’s no need to mess around with transferring files to a computer first—just take the photo, login, and upload it straight to the batch,” she says. “CertiCraft isn’t just something you have to use in the office—it’s right there in your hand when you need it." You might need to "enable Desktop site" on your phone if looks weird at first.
