On Episode 23 of The State of Craft, Dr. Av Singh, PhD, PAg, an organic and regenerative agriculture expert, joined us.

Dr Singh has authored over 200 peer-reviewed papers and articles and guest-lectured at over 30 universities in Canada, the US, the UK, and India. He is a consultant and QAP for several Maritime micro-cultivation facilities.

On The State of Craft, he discussed the good and bad of the cannabis industry, as well as the benefits of regenerative agriculture.

- Craft growers are increasing the quality of cannabis in Canada - as good as legacy products, despite the legal restrictions.

- Put a max on THC levels to encourage using a different metric to rate cannabis and encourage more options available for consumers.
- We need standardized testing for labs.

- We need to break the stigma of not having places to take your medicine.
- We should be looking at life-cycle assessment to understand how we’re producing cannabis.
- Regenerative growing can save lots of costs in terms of inputs and labour.
- Living soil gives plants the resources they need to thrive and stave off contaminants.
- Outdoor grown plants have no problems passing QA tests if they’re healthy.
- Right now, you need a lot of capital to succeed in this industry.
